Who can recommend a suitable device?

My grandpa is looking for outdoor video surveillance to have evidence if burglars come back.

It has no Wi-Fi and no smartphone / mobile internet.

It should be a camera that records and automatically dubbed it back after some time. Should something noticeable happen so that I can show it to him on my laptop (e.g. An SD card?)

Unfortunately, you need a lot of modern equipment for the new surveillance chambers, the local electrical company had nothing suitable there. I'm not really that familiar with it, who can recommend a simple camera to us? (preferably personal experience)

Without "modern" devices you will probably only have one surveillance set with a video recorder, but you will hardly even get them. Even if the camera has an SD card you have to configure it via PC / Apps. Why does it have to be a video? Wildlife cameras might be a "middle ground"
