I have to expand from 3GB to 8GB before my Samsung laptop R519. One analysis said that DDR2 fits DDR3, but the bar itself says "DDR2 ONLY".
My question: what exactly fits now? It is quite a difference. (Examples of RAM would be nice
(yes, are mobile pictures xD)
Only DDR2 and a maximum of 4GB in total (2x2GB). Whether it's worth upgrading from 3GB to 4GB is of course another question.
The part is loosely 10 years old. Just upgrading your memory will not help you because the rest of the hardware is too weak.
If the part DDR2 memory is built in, you also have to use DDR2 memory. In addition, the motherboard must also support 8 GB of memory. Do you have several slots for it?
In addition, you need a 64-bit operating system, because only so can be managed more than 4 GB of memory.
I currently have a 1GB and 2GB latch in it and my laptop is suitable for a 64bit system…
But that does not mean that the 8GB board is okay. Also, you do not get much RAM because the other hardware is way too bad. If DDR2 was installed, one can assume that the board can manage absolutely no 8 GB.
If then there's "DDR2 Only", then synonymous only with DDR2 RAM. You can also see what your current RAM is for a guy.
However, you will not benefit much from the 8 GB of RAM in such an old laptop.
