I have a folder that is about 300 GB in size. This of course eats a lot of memory on a 1TB hard drive. The file should ideally come under 160GB. Is that possible and if so how. Of course, I know programs to compress, but I have only a rather bad laptop available. Compressing with very high compression rates would take 12 hours. Can I accelerate this somehow?
No that can't be accelerated with such amounts of data.
Any answer is useless unless you reveal what files are in that folder.
Videos, for example, are already highly compressed and can't be compressed even more.
Well, compression compresses large files to KB.
You can't accelerate such a process. Run the laptop when you go to work or overnight.
