Since my studies will start soon I will buy a laptop. My choice was the Thinkpad E 495 and the 490 respectively.
The only difference is that the 495 houses a 5 3500u while the 490 has an I5 8265u (and a fingerprint sensor).
Now there was a report from Notebookcheck after the Ryzenprpzessor is a good deal stronger. In the benchmark this is true for some areas but not for everyone. So has the Ryzen z.b. A higher basic clock, the Intel but a higher Simglecore Boots. I also found reports where people had some problems with the Ryzen model. However, one must also say that a model with Intel processor costs nearly 50 euro more.
Now I'm a bit unsure. Could someone give me some advice on the experience with this notebook or just more idea about the processors? I would be very grateful.
So the 495 with the Ryzen has besides the very good CPU also a VERY strong graphics part, at these the Intel in no way approaches… With the RYZEN you are really better served.
Since you probably will not use this laptop for gambling, I would use the laptop with the Ryzen because you usually need the higher single core performance for gaming instead of office.
If there are problems with the Ryzen models, I suggest you search the Internet for a similar laptop and look at the report.
