All at once deleted on laptop mhm?

Hi people i have a question my bones father his laptop somehow everything was deleted so all files and pictures but for example the apps that weren't on it! In any case, there was first a message that something from microsoft has to be renewed or so definitely no virus because we then have a good virus program… Thanks in advance, I hope you can help.
