HDD 750gb with an SSD 500gb?

I have a video where it was recommended to switch his laptop from HDD to SSD.

My questions about this since I'm not very familiar with it:

Is it worth changing an HDD if the SSD has 250 GB less?

Will the laptop become noticeably faster with the "Loss" memory?

What is meant by cloning an HDD to SSD?

1tb SSDs are not that expensive anymore, so you might want to consider this too.

Basically, I definitely say: Yes, an SSD is worthwhile for every consumer (only for surfing the web).

However, I advise against an NvMe SSD if you do not play games or do other things that need high speed, and it is not worth it if you only transfer photos / videos.

Is noticeably faster and it would be better to get 1TB

cloning means that you clone your files to the SSD so you don't have to install everything again

Well it starts up faster and programs start faster, but that doesn't affect performance. If 250Gb less are enough for you, no problem. Cloning effectively transfers the operating system, programs and data from one disk to the other.

It depends on whether you need the missing 250 GB. If the HDD is full to the brim and everything on it is absolutely necessary, then you have a problem if the SSD has 250 GB less.

The laptop is actually getting faster and faster with an SSD. But of course he doesn't calculate faster afterwards, he can only read the data much faster. This is particularly noticeable when the program starts.

Cloning means making a 1: 1 copy of the existing hard drive to the new SSD. There are special programs for this. If the laptop has only one connection for a disk and almost everyone has it, then you need an external hard drive housing that is connected to the USB port to clone a disk. This is only possible if both plates are connected.

I always use Macrium Reflect in such cases. Always worked 1A.

But everyone has their own favorite tool.
