I replaced the screen on my sister's Thinkpad because there was a small crack in it.
Now the notebook doesn't start anymore, so when I press the power button, the power LED goes on, the fans start up briefly, but they go out again immediately and the screen doesn't even turn on.
The power LED lights up continuously.
What I've already tried:
Reinstalled the old screen
Another monitor connected
Bios battery replaced
RAM checked
Power supply connected
I was told that I should reload the bios, but I can't find a download for this
I would unplug the BIOS battery, notebook battery and the power adapter from the notebook and have pressed the power button for 30 seconds. Maybe there's still restarting somewhere. Then connect the battery and switch it on. That may help.
otherwise I would check all flex cable plugs (best plug and reattach and make sure they are properly seated).
Ps: did I understand correctly that it didn't work with the old screen and with an external one?
Yes you understood correctly.
Then please try what I wrote.
I already did, nothing happened.
Hmm. Check if there's a dent in the heat sink tube or something? That can also be a reason. I hope that you didn't accidentally damage the display connector when you plugged it in?
I would guess that somewhere a cable connector is not "right". Unfortunately, this is always a search for such problems.
Here you can download the BIOS (I just don't know how that can help you if the computer switches off immediately after switching on):
