I have a problem with my laptop, it crashed in the middle of work today, and it looked as if it just went into energy-saving mode. Why? I don't know it happens sometimes. So, as always, I just pressed a key and nothing happened. Then I switched it off and waited briefly. Now, whenever I start my laptop, it turns on. So it shows me that it is on but the screen stays off. There's a button that switches the screen off, it was and is not active. Even after half an hour it doesn't get any better.
Do you have something I can do? I would have got myself a new one soon anyway, but it would still be annoying.
The display could be defective. You can definitely have that repaired.
See if you can get a picture when you connect the laptop to an external monitor.

You can have the repair done by a corresponding PC service provider, in lockdown this is currently difficult.
If the device is still under warranty, this is a case for the RMA service of the manufacturer or the retailer from whom you bought the device.
You can connect an external monitor to the laptop via VGA / DVI or HDMI.
