Hello! I have the following problem: I bought about half an years ago an omen by HP, which now breaks.
The right hinge has broken out. It started with a nod to open and close the laptop, but I did not think of a problem that would get that big.
At some point when I opened it, I noticed that there was a gap between the desktop and the frame and this gap extended over the whole right corner of the upper part of the laptop. It then fell out even small screws and plastic pieces that I have saved.
I have then reported to the support of HP the first me also good, as something so after such a short time could not be.
I should e-mail pictures of the damage to HP, which I did. After further discussion, it was said that the repair would not be covered by the warranty, as such cases are not reported in the register for this model.
I then had everything forwarded to your complaints department, so that they would take a closer look at the case and reassess it.
One day later, I received an e-mail from you saying, "I'm quoting: HP has no information regarding material weaknesses or production errors with this model associated with this defect. We also have no other cases with this error with other customers. The damage was caused by improper use and in this case we can only offer a paid repair. Accidental damage is not covered by the warranty.
HP will now assume that the damage was caused by improper use by me, and the reason is based on the fact that there was not something like this model yet?
And what if I caught a Monday product? Is not your guarantee applicable?
Especially since I have found many entries in HP forums when rechachieren, which describe exactly the same problem! Partly with other notebooks from HP, but also two, which is the HP Omen series, of which I own one. And with the Omen devices it is always a Knartschen at the beginning and a broken RIGHT hinge! That can't be coincidence right?
My final question at this point: Is the case rightly not on the guarantee? If not, what can I do to counter this? Can I turn on a lawyer?
Have already tried everything about HP, the staff on the support were always trying to help me, but unfortunately could not. Perhaps it is important to mention that the damage was caused by daily use, by the daily opening and closing of the laptop.
I did not use it wrongly or grossly, nor did it ever come down to me or I opened the screen too much or anything like that.
I thank everyone who was willing to read so much! And thank you in advance!
No matter what they say, you have a 2 year warranty! How should improper handling trigger such a thing?
Well, I do not understand… So I should become a lawyer?
You can always go to a lawyer
do you have a legal protection?
this will be a damn costly procedure, the judge will order a reviewer
If you lose, it will be more expensive than the laptop is worth
is always risk
Not immediately, again complain-a period of 14 days set with a gentle threat by lawyer, all by registered letter with response!
Typical vulnerability in laptops with plastic hinges.
I'm surprised that this damage should not be known, because the problem has, in my experience, sooner or later with any laptop (brand does not matter) has the plastic hinges.
