I was just doing schoolwork (almost idle) suddenly my laptop beeps several times and shuts down. Do you know what that can be and how I can fix it?
The PC was on for about 20 minutes at this point. Afterwards I checked the temperatures with Hhomework Montitor and there was nothing noticeable
Possibly. Forgot to plug in the power cord?
Too hot?
No he had 90% and the power cord was on
As I said, I checked the temperatures with the Hhomework Monitor and noticed nothing. He was only on for 15-20 minutes and only Word and Excel were open, so nothing demanding either
Accidentally activated the energy saving mode?
Or, depending on the setting, if you don't press a button for a set time or move the mouse, the laptop / PC can also put itself into standby.
Which manufacturer and which model is it? How many beeps were there exactly?
It is an N950TP6 from xmg
I did not count the number of beeps at the moment, but I also did not find a table where that is
I also pressed buttons when beeping to see what it was. It definitely pips out of the speakers. But I don't know if a laptop has a motherboard beeping at all
Possibly. A forced update and you missed the message?
With laptops, it is more the rule that the BIOS beeps come from the normal speakers.
I did not miss a message, it happened twice in relatively quick succession. I would not know that he beeps during the forced update and he gives you no visual warning that the laptop is now shut down.
But the problem occurred when I had been in Windows for a long time so it was clearly after the post.
I could also turn the volume down using the volume control
I'm not sure if the message always stays in the foreground if you fix another one at the same time. When the timer expires, Windows also shuts down consistently. If you can rule that out, there's surely another explanation. The beeping could at least be triggered by typing too quickly. Some keyboards are already on strike if you press 4 keys at the same time - the computer also beeps briefly.
If the laptop goes into standby, depending on the device, it also emits an advisory tone that it is now going into standby.
I can definitely rule out that I missed it.
There were several beeps that were independent of my typing.
As I said he shutdown it was definitely not standby. And I also worked on Word, so there was mouse and keyboard input
