Origin credentials incorrect or expired?

I wanted to play Sims 4 again this morning, log in, and then the message "Access data incorrect or expired. Please try again or reset password":

I can't reset the password because it is not my e-mail that my Origin account uses. I got Sims 4, 2015 for free, on CD, but the account still runs through someone else we bought it from.
Can't I update Origin because I have to sign up for it (which doesn't work!)

I get mild tantrums here because I can't do anything and have tried everything. I restarted my laptop, shutdown etc.

Can you help me please?

ca

In that case, you were never allowed to play the game at all.

Ki

I beg your pardon?

ca

You used an account that you don't own.
Since you have apparently not changed the linked email address, you should now be able to prove that you are the legal owner of the account. But you are not, since it is not in your name, I assume.

Ki

Not like that. I think you understood that fsch. The account owner and I even wrote. All saved files were deleted. The account was sold. So far everything has worked until origin made this statement. I've been playing for 5 years, so.

Ki

We were not told by the owner that we should change email address or anything else. That would not work because (as already mentioned) it is YOUR email, and then it would get passwords etc. Sent.

Take a look at EA's terms of use: http://tos.ea.com/legalapp/WEBTERMS/US/de/PC/#RulesofConduct

I'll quote you something from the code of conduct:

By accessing or using EA services, you consent to
Your EA account, any access to EA services, or any EA content associated with your EA account, including the virtual EA currency and other authorizations, regardless of whether within an EA service or on a third-party website, or in connection with a transaction outside the scope of the game,
not to sell, buy, trade or otherwise transfer, or offer to transfer, unless expressly authorized by EA.

I marked the important point in bold. The actual owner of the account did not have permission to give you the account. It is completely irrelevant that any saved games have been deleted. And changing the email address wouldn't have helped either. After that, you could still have assumed that the account had been passed on, because you can see from the IP address, for example, that the account is no longer used by the person who created the account. At least if the IP address under which the account was registered is still visible.

If you violate the terms of use, the account may of course be blocked sooner or later. Maybe there's another reason. Your only option will be to contact customer service, but I very much doubt that customer service will help you to access another account again.

I would create my own new account and get Sims 4. With various key dealers such as MMOGA you can get the game quite cheap: https://www.mmoga.de/advanced_search.php?keywords=Sims+4

Thank you very much. We were never told that. My dad set it all up for me. Then I create an account for myself. But there's still one question: do I have to buy new sims? I mean, I have sims 4 as a CD, so? I now have quite a lot of mods (custom content) on sims 4. Would it all go away?

vi

I'm not familiar with the game, but if Sims 4 had a product key and you redeemed it with the other account, you will have to buy it again. Of course, you can also try it out by using the game on the new account, it doesn't hurt.

Ki

I do not understand that. I also don't know if I've ever had it or redeemed it. Then I will probably never be able to play the game again.

Someone has already written here that this is actually not allowed, but I doubt that your account has been blocked. I got my Sims 4 in the same way, but I changed all the data to my data, including the email address, so I never had any problems. It was a big mistake on your part not to do that. Now you only have customer service in your account, you don't have to tie them in the nose that the old email is not yours. You could say that this is your old email address, which you can no longer access and therefore have a new one. But I don't know if you can get the game back like that.

Is there no longer any contact with the seller? Don't you know how to get there? Otherwise he could simply send you the email from Sims, which he will then receive. And when you have a new PW and come back in, change the email address to yours.

And you can't even remember the PW? Or was it not yours at all but also his? Actually it's pretty stupid, sry, but he still has the game and could make sure that you can't play it anymore (he can just change the PW, maybe that happened) and he can do it again and again resell and pull the same thing and cheat people all for money. You actually make sure that the previous owner no longer has access. For that he has to do a lot and you too, that's a collaboration, was the same with me. So you have to be able to trust the seller, such a purchase from private individuals is always risky, he can always rip you off before all the data is yours and he really has ZERO access.

Otherwise, if you can no longer contact him and the service does not help you, I would search the Internet to find out how you could still get in or what other options are available. Otherwise there's only a new purchase or various cracks and downloads, but this is more illegal than buying the game from a random user ^^ (and yet it is not tracked. But you need a little idea) I heard ^^

Otherwise, I'm sorry for your game. V-v

Ra

Yes, the game has a key, so it is linked to the account. Just like that: 3

Ra

The previous owner redeemed it, without redeeming it you can't play the game at all. May I ask how old you are? Just so I know if you can understand what's key and stuff. Sry, if you are older and it sounded insulting, but a child is simply explained differently xD

Im

Do you have CAPS on? So you write capital letters permanently, because then the password would be wrong without being visible. Happens to me sometimes.

If it is certainly the right one, then you only have the option to contact the owner of the Origin account, who has probably changed the password or the email address.

Can you dub the CD again and create your own Origin account? It just occurred to me… But then you probably wouldn't have any more addons.

I'm sorry, I can really feel your frustration

Ki

Thank you very much. Yes, I'll show my dad that, and yet I know the access data, and I have it. It may have been changed, etc. We should have known that, but I was too young to do that. I can only hope and thank you very much for the text.

Ki

Yes, thank you. And no, I always clicked "show" on the password, and it was spelled correctly. I have Sims 4 on CD, but with a new account all extensions, etc., in which I have invested Really much, would be gone.

I can only hope that we reach the owner and it was / is not a scam
