I reset my laptop (Windows 10) because it was very slow. I had Sims 4, with a lot of extensions. After the reset I wanted to install Origin via website, but I got the error message that 2 dll files are missing.
I installed it from the network, and then got the error message that the application could not be started correctly. So I tried it on CD, which is still from the base game (from 2017). Origin also installed now. But when I open Origin, it updates. Nothing happened after the update, so all that was left was to run Origin.
After the execution, a window came up stating that the Origin version is no longer supported and has to be updated. Now I hope that I can get some ways that I don't have to buy Sims and the extensions again.
What are the missing files?
To the files MSVCP140.dll and VCRUNTIME140.dll
Downloading the files one by one is useless. Visual runtime must be installed https://www.microsoft.com/...x?id=48145
I had already installed the files BOTH, but then I decided on the CD version. I need help.
You do not have to buy Sims + extensions again, this is saved on your account. Do you have a driver CD or something similar from the laptop? If you reset a PC, you also delete any pre-installed programs / drivers.
I just see you are missing 2 specific DLLs: Visual C ++ Redistributable Package for Visual Studio 2013
Download that, restart your laptop and hope ^^
You can't install the two files. You probably tinkered it so nothing works anymore. CD installation is useless You have to install the current origins version.
The vc redist runtimes are best missing the download here https://winfuture.mobi/download/3340
There are still a few extra programs like Java and net framework but you can deselect them during the installation. It is best to simply install all vcreddist all other programs that sims should use
vc redist runtimes need pretty much all common games of normal white, these are installed by origin steam etc
