Which would apply for me as a loan u. How is the step by step approach, thank you!
Can recommend Lubuntu as a user-friendly Linux distribution with low hardware requirements.
You can download it here as an .iso file: https://lubuntu.net/downloads/
You can then either burn it to CD or pull it to a USB stick from which you can then start your Vaio laptop to start the installation of the operating system.
After checking through the Microsoft Tool I would at least Win7 or Win10.
My notebook is from 2006 and works great with Win10.
Enough for office and internet.
Have a core2duo 1.86 GHz with 4 GB DDR2 RAM.
I can also recommend Cloudready. This turns your device into a Chromebook for free. Here is the download: https://davrt8itj6cgg.cloudfront.net/cloudready-free-72.4.25-32-bit/cloudready-free-72.4.25-32-bit.zip
Unpack the ZIP and then use this tool https://www.balena.io/...io/etcher/ to write the image (bin file) to a USB stick with at least 8 GB.
Then boot the stick. The installer offers the possibility to completely delete the hard disk. After completing the installation and the first reboot, simply sign in with the Google Account. In the settings in the section Plugins you can install with just one click Flash, Codecs and Widevine. Restart and your Chromebook is ready. All updates are fully automatic in the background.
Cloudready does not use Google Chrome, but the open source variant Chromium, which is also available for 32bit. This download is the 32bit version.
