Ok, if there's a defect on the touchpad, the pointer would still be there, so you should have hidden it.
When the pointer has completely disappeared, restart the PC. Check (using the key combinations, of course, your operating system if another monitor is recognized (on which the pointer could be wrongly located) and deactivate / move the pointer in the correct direction of your main monitor).
If you just can't move it over the touchpad, see if you have deactivated the touchpad (via a key combination, usually Fn + F1-12) or test it with an external USB mouse.
