Laptop mouse pointer not responding?

The laptop is only a week old. With the lock screen, I can move the pointer normally with the touchpad, but once I have unlocked it, I can't move the pointer. Most likely you have activated the touchpad lock.

Here's how to fix it: Look for a key with a touchpad icon on your keyboard. This symbol is often found on the [F5] or [F6] keys. Press this key at the same time as [Ctrl] + [Alt]. Your touchpad should already be unlocked.
