I want to ask you how much raise I could ask for in my situation.
hired 4 years ago as a temporary worker for 5 hours a day. Profession on paper: order picker / warehouse assistant in the sample / marketing department.
Taken over 3 years ago by the company for an unlimited period, January 2020 full-time employment. Hourly wages have hardly changed, currently 11 euro.
I hadn't thought about the salary so far, but since I want to build a house soon, I need more income to start a family.
The company is doing very well economically, and sales are increasing.
In my department there are 5-6 employees, mostly old ones, all processes have to be registered via the system in the PC, through my technical understanding I help to operate the software.
Thanks to my willingness to help and the knowledge and implementation of the processes, I became the interface with the other departments.
For 8 months I have accidentally learned that one of our departments has CAD data created for our sales products, externally and at a cost. Since I have completed an apprenticeship in this area, I have declared myself ready and since then I have been creating CAD drawings, 3D models that our customers often ask for. Mostly for international customers.
We recently received a prototype for a new product that was devised by product development. I personally did not like the design and created and presented another version of the product at home that was very well received. I have compiled and submitted the documents. Now another product should be devised and I will be there to create the product 3D and to derive the technical drawing.
On the employment contract is camp helpers but the situation has changed because I'm now used in many ways. Especially the creation of CAD data is in high demand, which I master internally with my own laptop with a student version of software.
I can do everything my colleagues can do together and a lot more besides. I know that the warehouse employees (warehouse shipping) get a small raise every year. I also know that my colleagues (samples) earn a lot more than I do, even though you actually only pack and send the goods and as a low-earner I also maintain the system, solve technical problems, support other departments, and travel a lot.
It was a long text, if you have read through the whole and before you close the page please give a short feedback on how much wages I could request.
I don't want to earn less than 15 euro / hour, would it be realistic? Or more?
I know that you have more experience and can assess better. So please ask for advice!
If there are questions write briefly. LG
Do you have a works council? Then talk to them.
Tendency upwards.
If you create cad drawings, and also on your own device and software, there should be a lot more money in there.
You now have 11 euro and want to charge 15 euro, do I really understand that?
Did you enjoy an apprenticeship?
So I think it won't work, from 11 to 15 euro, that's a little too high.
If I were you, I would definitely ask for more than you actually want. Then you can let yourself be negotiated. With your skills, you can also apply to other companies and possibly earn a lot more than the 11 euro.
If you have a works council, definitely take one of them into the conversation with the boss.
We don't have a works council, I have a department head with whom I should clarify everything. From a human point of view, everything is fine. I think my salary will be increased but how high I should start, I'm not sure.
Is it there?
Since I have completed an apprenticeship in this area, I have declared myself ready and since then I have been creating CAD drawings, 3D models that our customers often ask for.
Trained power for 11 euro a month, where can you find something like that.
I think at least 17 an hour, plus a work computer. If he should use his own hardware as is currently the case, more.
Thank you for your answer, I don't want to sell myself under value. There's more money in it but if I have the opportunity now I want to know the best possible realistic value.
You can dream… But not from now on, from 11 directly to 15 euro, I can't imagine!
Well, then he should change, others pay him 20 hours for the same.
If he does a good job, they'll give him so much without thinking again.
It's up to everyone what he does!
We do not have a works council, it has been done so far, we call our concerns to the head of department and he negotiates with the boss. The department head communicates the result. Strange for me.
But does he ask the question?
I think they pay him that much. Because you get no replacement for less than 18 euro an hour. You can find warehouse helpers on every corner, but not trained CAD designers.
You can apply to other companies in the area by the way.
Mostly, switching will bring you more money than asking for a raise.
If you want to stay there, I would also request software and work computers, which should also be offered.
I started here part-time because I was still studying, so as a casually packing goods in the warehouse.
Working atmosphere is very good, if I get enough money I don't mind to continue working here for the time being. The situations developed partly by chance. I did an apprenticeship but I never thought that I could do this work externally. Now I make the technical drawings internally with my own computer, but that will definitely change. A salary increase is in there but if I want to negotiate I want to have a realistic value with the help of you that gives me security not to overstate the numbers.
Then just go and tell your manager your desired hourly wage and then he will either reject it or he will give it to you, otherwise nothing can happen!
I plan to do that, first I wanted to prove that I can do it.
Yes, I want 15 euro, but I call 18 euro, boss gives 12 euro, I didn't even have a chance to negotiate.
Under 15 I would really reject that you should get a lot more in other companies. And there you also get a computer and software.
This is a rip-off because you just earned just over the Mendelssohn!
Clarify what you would get for the work after the collective wage and ask for the Dan!
You will never be able to afford a house there with the money to build a house costs from 100,000 euro and Dan is still missing everything else like water, heating, etc!
Also request that your contract be changed based on what you are doing now!
Yes, that's weird. Maybe the boss is a social phobic.
