I'm a customer of Vodafone (formerly Unitymedia) and have a problem with the network connection at home.
As a router, I use the model that I got with my contract.
Since January there have been regular, usually about hourly but also more frequent, extreme break-ins on ALL devices (also on PCs that are connected to the router by means of a cable) that can only be remedied by restarting the router.
Normally the speed of the network is 400mb up- and 20mb download per second with a ping of 5-10. In the event of a "break-in", the download drops to below 5mb & the upload drops below 0. In addition, a ping of 50-200.
We're a family of 4 and we all use cell phones, laptops, SmartTVs, …
The same answers always come to a complaint - "You would have carried out a remote diagnosis and supposedly there would be no problems, but you apologize for the inconvenience" & usually there's still a credit on top.
Unfortunately nothing happens.
What can be the reason?
I had a similar problem with Unitymedia / Vodafone. When we were about 3-5 times a day, the internet was gone for about 5-10 minutes. After about 3 months and what felt like 300 phone calls to support, I finally managed to get a FritzBox available to me. Since then all problems have disappeared.
So either annoy the support long enough or buy a FritzBox yourself and see if it works with it.
