Change special characters on the laptop?

Heii

I have a new laptop and the special characters are not where they should be. Eg It says that I should have the @ on the 2, but is on the Q. Or the plus is somewhere… How can you change that

Cu

This is an American keyboard

If you can make the ampersand (@) using the Q key, then everything is correct. At least that's how I understood it now. If you have set an English keyboard layout, you can make the ampersand using key 2. You can also notice, for example, if the Z key and the Y key are interchanged. You should be able to change the keyboard layout using the key combination Alt + Shift.

Or are the characters on the keyboard of your laptop reversed? Then only a new keyboard or returning the device would help. Or you can also set an English keyboard layout using the key combination already mentioned under Windows. Would then be a certain getting used to. I would not want to work with the device like this.

I thought that I don't know where the special characters are on my keyboard. If I want to press the @ then I have to press the Q, but on my keyboard it is time for the 2

As I said, your laptop itself has an English keyboard layout.

How can i adjust it

If the key assignment should be like your laptop, then you have to change the keyboard layout under Windows to English. This usually works with the key combination Alt + Shift. Otherwise, search for the language using Windows search and add English. The language can then also be selected as a layout. A DEU icon should appear in the lower right of the taskbar, which you can use to change the language. Maybe that's already visible.

I've put it in German (Switzerland), now it works… Where I put it in English, the letters were no longer correct

Ja

If I interpret your other questions correctly, you will live in Switzerland. Maybe your keyboard is set to "German keyboard".

You should be able to change that, e.g. B. If you hold down the Windows key (next to the spacebar) and then press the spacebar. Then a window should open and by pressing the spacebar again you can change it to the "Switzerland" keyboard.

Edit: As I've seen, you've been able to solve your problem by now.
