Keep Windows XP for TOR browser or install Linux?

I found our old Windows XP laptop in our attic (with which I played through many old games in the past) and wanted to freshen it up again. However, since I own a PC myself, I wanted to use the laptop for things that I would not do on my regular computer (how to experiment with programs or websites or use the TOR browser, which would be the main reason).

But now I'm faced with the question of whether I want / should keep Windows XP or Linux should / want to play (as man sees I'm a little indecisive.).

I know that Windows XP has not received any security updates for years and that it is therefore unsafe (which actually makes the TOR browser pointless),

however, to be honest I have never worked with Linux and have no idea how even one thing works on it, while I know Windows all my life.

That's why I wanted to ask here what you would do in my place. As already said, I would mainly use the TOR browser with it.

Have a nice day and thanks for the answers in advance

Windows XP is like an open barn door. What she wants is pure.

Take a Linux like Ubuntu and Mint, they are not hard to use. If you can handle Windows, you can do it too.

Ca

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Then I'll take care of Linux tomorrow.

Ed

Take a Linux distribution. For example, Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Kali Linux or Parrot OS

Just try it, it's easy and you do not even have to install it, you can boot it directly from a USB stick or a CD / DVD.

OK thank you.

Are there big differences between the distributions? As I said, I know about Linux null

Ed

There are some differences but to list them all would be too much of a good thing. Ultimately, I think you want to work something similar to Windows as well. The designs are of course different as well as some deeper code implementations. As a result, Linux is open source, everyone can develop a system, and then something different happens here and there. Depending on what you want to do. Lately you get on almost every Linux system all Linux applications somehow to run. "Tor" runs in any case

OK thank you.

No thing

Kali Linux is definitely not for beginners. Better Mint or Ubuntu.
