I gave my PowerPoint presentation overwritten with the same name. Is it possible to get the old version on the stick or laptop again?

Hopefully you've just done that and haven't closed Powerpoint yet. Then you could restore the previous status with multiple undo (= CTRL + Z) and then save it under a different name.
