Can I back up the data from my laptop to an external hard drive that really stores ALL (programs, pictures, personal data, shortcuts, desktop sorting, etc.) on it? So I could theoritically throw away my laptop and on a completely different PC with the same operating system my complete data with programs, etc. Again?
Acronis, boot from it and create an image.
What
Is there really everything secured u. Is that free
What about the internal win 10 backup? What is better with acronis?
Not free, you did not ask for it afterwards.
At Acronis, you really do secure everything.
You ensure how many partitions there are on which volume and how big they are, plus all their contents.
OK thanks. I think then I will use the system internal BAckup. LG.
With the help of the internal Windows system image backup, you can also secure your system perfectly on an external hard drive. In addition to the system partition, you can also include other partitions in the backup. In principle, it is a bare metal fuse.
If you install a new hard drive in your laptop, e.g. An SSD, you can easily restore the backup easily using an installation or repair disk back. When restoring to a different hardware, Windows will automatically try to replace inappropriate drivers at the next boot. Whether this succeeds in all cases, but is uncertain. Anyway, I recommend a recovery on a working LAN port.
The Windows system image backup also stores multiple versions, with the number appearing to depend on the available space. Unfortunately, I have not found any documentation so far. In addition to this oddity, there's currently another shortcoming that should be kept in mind: recovering from a network drive using the SAMBA protocol already fails (at least for my system) when establishing a connection. However, if you connect using appropriate command-line commands, recovery is possible. This behavior actually precludes use by the casual user.
Personally, I use next to the o.a. Windows solution still the program EaseUsTodoBackup free. Similar to Acronis, the version management is cleanly resolved, even the backup to network drives is no problem. In addition to a full backup, differential and incremental backups can be performed; With the aid of image management, multiple follow-on backups can be combined into a complete backup:
