If I put a plug in the AUX input on my laptop (Windows 10), a window would always open immediately asking where the connected device was. For example, there were the options:
Detect device as
Audio input
Microphone input
speaker
Headset
…
Now yesterday I clicked the box that my PC should save the information for the next time and should always recognize the device as a headset. Now I have connected a microphone today and the window opens more. How can I ensure that the window opens again as soon as I insert a plug into the socket or Where can I set my PC to recognize the inserted device as a microphone?
There's the plug for the microphone (pink / purple) and for the headphone function (green). See if you have put it in correctly
Found out how to do it ^^
For everyone who has the same problem:
opens the control panel (simply enter "control panel" in the search line next to the Windows symbol and select)
Select "Hardware and Sound"
Select "HD Audio Manager"
click on the small folder in the top right above "ANALOG"
tick the box under "Activate automatic popup dialog after plugging in the device"
click "OK" in both windows to confirm
My laptop has only one jack socket - that's the right one. Otherwise it always worked. But I've found out how to do it.
