What should I do with a crack in the computer?

I have just started school and I started my laptop quite normal, suddenly came a crack although I did nothing. I just sat there and there was a crack and my screen packed. My teacher says the crack would be inside and I really do not know what to do.

Claim warranty, repair or buy new.

Where is the crack? In the screen? Maybe only in the presentation and not on the display itself?
