I want to get a new notebook but spend as little money as possible on it, now I've looked around on eBay's classifieds and found a few interesting articles.
I have never bought second-hand technology on the internet, especially not laptops. Can someone who knows about it tell me whether it is a good idea? Is it safe to buy such a laptop without knowing what was on it before and whether there's a malicious program that reads out all my data. Should you stay away from that and only go to authenticated second hand sellers or can you trust people there? I appreciate every helpful answer.
How such second-hand devices were handled before is always the question. You can be lucky or unlucky.
As far as the software is concerned, I would just rewrite the operating system from scratch when you have the device. If everything has been completely redone, there should be no more problem with malware and co.
Such items on eBay classifieds, please, only hand them over personally and not via bank transfer or PayPal or by post. There are now so many fraudsters that with the interesting offer it is almost inevitable that you will otherwise be pulled over the bar.
