Hey, I have the following problem: Broken laptop sold on eBay. The buyer asks me to send it to Depot BG in Nuremberg and has this address in his PayPal account. So it's not his private address, he only communicates in English on eBay. He paid with buyer protection. But I'm not comfortable with the matter and now I'm afraid that he will somehow complain about the goods etc. And then I will lose my money. I also have major concerns about insured shipping and tracking numbers.
For more pictures see below
The reviews from this depot in Nuremberg are all foreign languages and the last name of my eBay buyer appears there 3 times.
I wanted to call eBay tomorrow morning, I'd rather cancel the purchase. If so, how do I do it without any consequences, I'm afraid of becoming a victim of fraud. Package has not yet been sent
Do you already have the money in your PayPal account? If so, get it paid off as soon as possible. Otherwise difficult to assess without knowing the company that is involved. At least it sounds dubious. If you have the money (not just any fake email, but really in the PayPal account), with a tracking number, taking a picture of the package open and closed with sticker secures it, above all it makes your statement credible and helps with the evidence.
Thanks for the answer, I have not yet been paid, it is withheld until I enter the tracking number…
You can't cancel the purchase. You have entered into a sales contract that you have to keep.
The dispatch takes place to the address stored with paypal. You can prove the shipment, and the tracking numbers also show that the item has arrived there. In this respect, nothing can happen to you.
Nevertheless, the buyer can complain about the item and apply for buyer protection. But that has nothing to do with the shipping address.
Why you accepted PayPal as a payment method will probably remain your secret. Your concerns are justified. But you wanted to pay a fee for taking this risk without having an advantage.

It doesn't matter at all. Should a buyer protection case be decided, PayPal demands the money back from the seller.
Didn't want to store my bank details on eBay, thought PayPal would be a little more secure. Nevertheless, thank you very much, then I'll send the article tomorrow.
There have already been cases where PayPal has decided against the seller, even though the seller has performed!
If there's no money on it, then it doesn't matter, you don't have to sue for your money, but if they have to take action on their own initiative.
Saves money and nerves…
That does not exist. So clearly a fraud.
Only when the money is there. Otherwise you get rid of the goods for free.
PayPal only releases the money once the item has been sent.
And even if it should already be on the PayPal account: PayPal can claim it back up to 180 (!) Days after the purchase.
The money is shown as sent but with the subject retained and reserved payment. Also received an email from PP (The money is temporarily withheld as the transaction has been classified as risky. The money is retained as a reserved balance and is available after the order has been fulfilled unless the buyer has made any claims for buyer protection or there are problems with your account)

The vast majority of cases are decided for the buyer and thus against the seller.

Paypal is guaranteed to claim against the seller.

For the buyer, yes. But this is about the seller. Paypal has only disadvantages for them, not a single advantage.

Apparently you have not read the terms and conditions of paypal. Why should it be a fraud that PayPal withhold the money?
Also receive an email from PP (The money is temporarily withheld as the transaction has been classified as risky. The money is held as a reserved balance and is available after the order has been fulfilled, provided the buyer has not made any requests for buyer protection or there are problems with your account occur)
Sure the mail is from PayPal? Checked whether the mail was actually sent from paypal.com? Is this also shown in the customer account? Do not follow the link in the mail, but go directly to https://paypal.com/...paypal.com and register there. Always check whether the certificate is verified on "PayPal, Inc. [US]" (normally by clicking on the lock in the browser line), only then are you really where you are really safe.
If you are unsure, you can also contact the support: https://www.paypal.com/...contact-us
Mon-Sat 9:00 a.m. To 7:30 p.m. They can also be reached by phone. You may have to scroll down, there are the contact options.
My mistake. I had just read another question about the well-known scam. If the mail comes from PayPal, it is something else.
All good, I was wrong, thought of a fake email. This has never happened to me in 16 years of PayPal.
I know.
Knowing this gives the answer
Only when the money is there. Otherwise you get rid of the goods for free
no sense.
Paypal is guaranteed to claim against the seller.
If I have sent the package and have the proof, go ahead. I don't care. If I have performed my work, then also with proof. Who then wants money from whom is not my business, my part is fulfilled. Just because PayPal makes it easy doesn't mean they are right.
For the buyer, yes. But this is about the seller. Paypal has only disadvantages for them, not a single advantage.
Per se, what I meant is not that PayPal has advantages for the seller, but my mentioned way.
Email address matches the emails received so far, also addressed with first name and surname.
Know that from some that you have to give the tracking number to receive money.
Much is wrong there. EBay ID from 2008 from the USA (hacked?)
My card doesn't work, a friend has… Then the address can't be verified.
Looks like a scam.
Where should you enter the tracking number? Take a screenshot and post the URL.
Sounds like a new business model for the UK Mafia.
He didn't pay. His friend paid. It already starts there. How is that supposed to work on eBay? One would have to have the other's login or both would have to be together. You can only pay from eBay.
Do the names of the Paypal account and eBay not match?
Call eBay and tell them about it. Foreign buyer, has an excuse not to pay himself but lets "a friend" pay, dubious address.
Then you can also call PayPal and ask what they think of that.
For the future: exclude foreign countries. And PayPal is always a risk.
"If so, get it paid off as soon as possible." Sorry, but that's nonsense! That doesn't help at all!
If PayPal demands the money back, then it doesn't matter whether it is still in the account or whether the account then goes into negative territory and PayPal collects it with collection and additional fees.
With PayPal itself you can enter this, I did it on eBay, too. Called eBay, she said I can send it to this address, then wait and see
