I5-8300H or i7- i7-9750H?

Would you notice any direct differences between these two (mobile) processors, with otherwise the same equipment? Otherwise, all parts in the notebook would be identical, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2060 graphics card, main port, connections, etc.

The device with i5 costs 300 euro less, but has 0.5 GHz less in the Turbo.

But is it worth investing in the device with the i7 in the long run?

Neither nor

Switch to AMD Ryzen socket AM4.

Away from Intel, currently the stuff is no good.

Take that the price is more worthwhile for you, but the i7 has more cores / threads. I would rather take an A15 with rtx2060:

and then upgrade the RAm to 16gb. I don't know how much you wanted to pay, but I think the 50 euro surcharge is really worth it and this is Ryzen 4th Gen.

I would take that

These are mobile processors, so the decision is not as clear as on the desktop. And the base plays only a limited role.

The I7 is about 10-15% faster on average.

Would rather go for Ryzen

ka

The i7 already has a lot more power.

The i3 is a quad core, which is not recommended. The I7 is a Hexacore, which is better but overpriced compared to the Asus TUF a15. There's an Octacore Ryzen R7 4800H which wipes the floor with the other two.

Simply retrofit an 8GB RAM bar and you have a processor that is almost 60% superior:

This would be very likely on a desktop PC. But I just need a mobile version.

Thanks for the answer.

Yes, the part is really good. I would also prefer an AMD because I like to be an "underdog". The problem is that the device should already have at least one Thunderbolt 3 port. By now I would need it. That was e.g. Also the exclusion criterion for the current XMG Apex with AMD processor and the upcoming MSI Bravo.

At the moment I tend towards a Lenovo Legion 740 which is relatively cheap on the homepage (compared to e.g. Razer and the other Asus models).

I'm not generally concerned with gaming (I still play Mount & Blade Warband.), Rather with a future-proof device.

And BTW, I actually still have 16 GB SODIMM Ram Ballistix Sport from another purchase over ^^.
