Better both.
Sometimes quite practical on the way, but my laptop was largely replaced by a tablet. I only use performance-hungry applications on my desktop PC. Cheaper, stronger, more modular and quieter. For LANs I can even take the mITX with me.
If I had to do without one of them, it would surely be the laptop.
Only a laptop, you can expand it with a keyboard and monitors. Find something mobile, it would not be so good if the data were stolen. So I always take it with me when I go out and store it in a safe place. Then you can move the apartment to the left, it wouldn't make me itch… LG

I like to animate, cut and play. A PC is of course more practical for such purposes. But with your needs, a laptop is clearly more useful
If you are interested in something like this, you can also encrypt the entire hard drive (e.g. VeraCrypt). I would vmtl with a laptop. Even almost do it sooner if it should get lost.
Yes thanks, I've already thought about it. To be on the safe side, I prefer to hide it outside the apartment. So you can drive away with peace of mind. There has been a break-in here and there near me, we have such police statistics that you can see. I feel like I'm on a target, so left, right, it has already hit above ^^
A notebook can also meet your requirements, but it is then 300 euro - 400 euro more expensive than a PC with the same equipment.
