Need 2 new multiple sockets for my room.
So far, such purchases have always been made by parents.
Now see some articles with surge protection. What I chose doesn't have surge protection. What exactly is it and does it make sense for indoor use if I only want to connect a notebook, printer, smartphone, etc?

Don't cost the world, I would invest.
You should use one with overvoltage protection, they don't cost that much either.
I actually only use them when I want to connect several devices

there are also very often in the https://www.tedi.com/ for about 10 euro. If you have such a shop with you.
How many devices you connect has 0 (in words: zero) meaning for the voltage. What can happen if you connect too many devices is that the permissible current strength, usually 16 A, is exceeded and the fuse blows. Overvoltage protection should ensure that expensive devices do not break if, for example, lightning strikes the line.
I don't buy anything from TEDI. At Amazon, too, you can read in some reviews that the description is incorrect and that there's no surge protection at all. What does it look like on the switch, how do I know if my plug has this protection?
I don't know why you're explaining this to me, I haven't written anywhere that matters when I connect multiple devices.

that was based on the fact that you can switch the connected devices individually with this multiple socket

TEDi has exactly the same.
I'm not an electrician, so I can't answer you whether this is really the case, whether there's one or not.
but Hama is already a well-known brand and I don't think they sell things that don't say what's on it.
I've had 4 of these 6-way multiple sockets in operation for years now, all of them are fully occupied and run around the clock, nothing has ever happened to me, I even connected 2 of them to each other.
