If he has a connection, yes. Most have that.
VGA or modern HDMI and (mini) Displayport. Depending on the operating system / brand, sometimes via USB or Thunderbolt. Or a docking station (via USB or the special connection if the laptop has something).
Like the look -> look for photos on Wikipedia or look in the instructions.
Simply connect a second monitor and with the Windows + P key combination you can choose to use a second monitor
I use all three on a direct docking station on the lenovo and via a usbc docking station on the HP…
