I will soon begin my studies in software engineering at a university.
I asked students what learning materials I needed for my studies and I was recommended to get a tablet.
Now it all depends on what a tablet.
I would like:
Use Microsoft programs
Can research
If possible use programmer for programming (eg Eclipse etc.)
Watch videos
In the best case around 500 euro, pain threshold at 700 max
I've looked at the Surface pro 6 and seen that this costs over 1000 euro. That's a bit too much for me.
Would it be better for me to get a Surface go or the Surface pro 4?
Or are other tablets / laptops more suitable?
I would not get a tablet purely for these requirements.
At our university, most computer science students with Thinkpads are found.
There are already suitable models for 200 euro

Yes, many of my student friends have a tablet to write down, the apple ipad offer just about everything your heart desires. I myself however have a thinkpad x1carbon, I can slices either on the keyboard or handwritten, but it is a matter of taste!
the ipad could even come in the price range but microsoft has just as good cheap tablets. But you can't miss a laptop in computer science.
You can just forget iPad for working and programming
