Projector VGA HDMI?

I'm a little bit desperate.
I would like to connect a rather old Hitachi projector, which only has a VGA connection, to an HDMI connection so that I can use my switch, laptop, etc. Over it. This now turns out to be impossible for the ignorant. I tried different adapters (DVI I). Now the VGA HDMI converter arrived today, but it shows me "no input signal" again. What else can I do?

Thank you in advance and have a nice evening.

As far as I know you need an active adapter with power supply for your Do I see none that does not have a micro USB plug where you have to plug in?

Here you can see e.g. https://www.amazon.de/...00NBUTHJG/

Many thanks for your response!

I tried this one: https://smile.amazon.de/gp/product/B00JG57MCO/

Is this the wrong one?

Should actually work. Do you have another device with a VGA input (an older monitor perhaps?) To test whether it is the projector or the cable + adapter?

I was able to test the VGA connection with an old Toshiba laptop - everything worked there!

Ok, ideas what else I can try? Adjust resolution? Or could it be because it indicates to me that the lamp should be replaced and the device cleaned? I mean in itself, should it show me a signal anyway.

The HDMI cable is certainly not defective either? Then it is best to write to the seller of the adapter that you have tested all other parts and that there's apparently a problem with the adapter.

It does not work. VGA is analog, HDMI is digital.
