Convert old Windows 10 laptop to Linux server?

I have an old laptop with 4GB RAM standing around at home and have now thought that I would like to install Linux on it and then use it as a server. Then I can run Minecraft servers, for example, or host websites. Not in public, of course, but only for me and a few friends. Would it be possible?

If so, I would be happy to receive detailed instructions, a Youtube video or a website link.

So. Take a boot stick and install Linux on it. Eg Ubuntu

Then you should perhaps consider whether the cpu is enough for you for an MC server

That would also work with Windows. But linux will probably be more resource-efficient. Just search Google or YouTube for "Installation Linux".

Basically, it's no more than downloading a Linux distro, burning it to a USB stick and installing it.

And the possibly excessive power consumption should also be reconsidered. Laptops are quite good here, but the right server hardware needs significantly less or no power for the GPU or something, depending on the load.
