I have at Opera permanently at least 22 tabs open, if I then type something Word comes the error message (no feedback, not even Task Manager opens… Are 30 tabs already too much for a modern PC
Yes, that's quite a lot, if you only 8 GB Ram has installed. If I open so many tabs on Chrome at the same time, I also have more 8 GB Ram in use (and I have 12 GB installed). But it also depends on what those pages are.
