I want to install WIN 10, WIN 10 on my notebook in parallel. I have already partitioned my hard drive so I have a free Partiotion with around 170gb. However, I can't install WIN 10 on this because the error message "windows can't be installed on this drive." The selected media already contains the maximum number of partitions of this type "comes. Now my fRage… Can I delete the recover partition, since they are so far as I know only to reset the pc to factory settings. Or does this not start my already installed WIN 7 anymore? Or do I have to delete more partitions so that I can create or install WIN 10 on my free partition? Another question is, if you can / should not delete this partition… Can you save it externally? So on an external hard drive and then just delete.
If you do not need the recovery partition you can also delete it. If you want to save them externally or even delete them you should do that with a live system.
So that means you do not need to boot Win 7?
And what exactly is a live system? ^^
The recovery is not needed for booting! A live system is an operating system that can be booted from a USB stick, ie without installation.
