Huhu, to all computer (game) experts here 🥰
I have a fairly old PC, but it was equipped with a few new components. I don't know what, but games like Sims are going well again and that's enough for me.
Now I have installed a new game, via Steam (Cities XL), and it started, the main menu and everything is displayed normally.
The ONLY thing it depends on is when I load the game, i.e. Start the game.
Then I just see stripes like a glitch and nothing works anymore.
Does anyone have any idea why this could be, or how I could at least find out what it is? The game runs normally on my laptop.
Stripe sounds like a defective graphics card. But actually can't be.
Can you add a video or photo?
Stripes would actually sound like a graphics card. Does your graphics card support the game? Is the CPU 100% working while the game is on? I would like a video and the pc information.
I added photos to the question, thank you in advance 🥰
Go to the game options and turn down the graphics settings, e.g. Texture quality. Does that change anything?
Thank you very much, I once made everything low, but unfortunately still the same problem.
Hm, unfortunately I have no idea apart from a defective graphics card, as it was already called.
… Which graphics card is it?
So on the sticker on the pc is nvidia geforce GTS240 2GB… I have the feeling that it is very old and pretty bad 😂
Joa, a few years older 😊 (from 2009). The minimum requirement for Steam is GTX 260 512 MB. So your card is not enough. The question, however, is whether the developer means that yours is not running at all or is much too slow. I suspect the latter, especially since you have 2 GB VRAM, so 4x the minimum requirement.
The GTS 240 and GTX 260 are listed with
https://de.wikipedia.org/...odelldaten. Didn't know which features are missing. Above all, the game would complain and not display a groat.
Unfortunately I have no more ideas.
I'll see if you can do something on the graphics card or if I can put a new one in.
But many thanks for your help 🥰💕
With pleasure
If you take a screenshot, are the stripes visible too?
