In 2013 or 2014 I bought an HP laptop with Windows 8 pre-installed on it.
Somehow it never really worked, there was always something to do with page loading, sometimes it took forever and sometimes I think it crashed.
Then there was suddenly something wrong with the operating system and such a computer type meant that I should have a recovery CD for Windows 8 sent to me. I did it too.
Then I suddenly had 3 CDs, a so-called supplement disc, a disc 1 of 2 and a disc 2 of 2.
I don't know if I ever tried that with the CDs.
Then I put the laptop away in 2015 because it never worked and I then had a tablet and no longer needed it.
The other day I thought to myself, I'm just trying to start it up again (which I thought was possible 5 years ago).
Then he first indicated that "the CMOS was invalid".
If you then press Enter it says: Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert Windows Installation Disc and restart the computer (I tried it with the 3 CDs mentioned above, it doesn't work even though they are running in the drive).
2. Choose your language settings and then click, Next "(I tried in the BIOS, but I don't find it)
3. Click, Repair your computer "(I don't think so).
If you Do Not have this Disc, Content your system administrator or computer manufacterer for assistance.
File: / EFI / Microsoft / boat / BCD,
Status: 0xc000000d
Info: An error ocurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.
Somehow I don't get anywhere. If you press Enter, you are at the Boot Manager, but nothing works, which helps.
Can someone tell me what the cause could be, whether I can do something myself, or whether it is worth repairing at all?
You need a windows BOOT CD and there's a setup where you can make the settings mentioned are important data on the laptop? If not then reinstall windows.
The battery on the mainboard is probably "clinically dead", which holds the internal system parameters ready to start. If you still have a manual, check whether you can change it with simple means (such as the exchange of memory modules or hard disk). But if it is installed somewhere inside, you have to have know-how to get to it.
Your windows installation is probably also damaged by other causes and should be replaced.
windows 8 and even the hermaphrodite 8.1 are hardly used anymore, the mass of windows users has now ended up with windows 10, which is mature and stable.
You have to decide for yourself whether upgrading to win10 and, if necessary, a small inspection by professionals at the pc shop is worthwhile for your lappi.
Install 256gb SSD and install Windows 10.
