I have an "https://de.msi.com/Laptop/GP72VR-7RF-Leopard-Pro"
It makes it very hot and sometimes it starts to jerk slightly, at first it wasn't.
The stuttering is normal, in the heat, the processors clock down.
I would open it and clean it inside, especially the cooling.
I would also replace the thermal paste, optionally with liquid metal, but be careful: this should only be used with copper coolers and must be replaced regularly.
The cooling does not work.
To find the reason, you have to unscrew the Lappi. There are a number of good instructions on Youtube. See if your model is there.
The most common reason is dirt in the fan / intake and outlet. The heat pipe can also be damaged. Used / dried thermal paste is often still an issue.
Alternatively, you can put a fan underneath, but that's not always enough.
As already written here, I would vacuum the fans nicely, maybe or better, they are dusty.
Which can also be because you wrote that the laptop is a bit older, that you may be playing too demanding games and that the GPU does not want to play along and overheats your entire system.
With laptops CPU & GPU always undervolt (e.g. With throttlestop), that brings a lot, especially under load. Disabling CPU "Turbo" can also help.
Otherwise, dedust, replace thermal grease, better fan / air circulation.
