Laptop does not boot up, top left is checking Media and then something by Boot Manger?

My laptop does not boot up anymore. He goes on, but then shows only Checking Media top left. Afterwards etaws are displayed by a boot manager…

Anyone experience what to do in such a case?

Is there a USB stick or is a CD / DVD / Bluray inserted?

He still writes Insert Recovery Media, which I do not have.
