Request tax advice from the tax office?

Hi

I made my tax return via tax software and today I receive an e-mail that the tax assessment notice in the software is available.

But I have a new laptop and therefore no longer own the software.

Can I just call the tax office and ask if I need to get something back or pay?

I assume, the tax office Germany. Call and ask if they send you the letter by post, or go past with photo ID + ask on the spot, if you get the notification please?

Certainly you can get this letter in writing on request. The tax office must not force all people - regardless of their possibilities and conditions - to submit all transactions electronically. I had that reasoning when I asked my question:

I have to make a multi-part tax return with a rickety PC that is somewhat unpredictable; Therefore, I have informally (by letter) justified, why I would like to give this all as a paper version - and it has been granted.

What helps: simply call there and talk about it - often you meet nice people who are well prepared for their audiences and can often give great advice. But I also use the personal contact. Just go!

The tax returns are still in paper form, the online callable decision is a kind of "service" if you make the statement online. Just wait a few days, then comes the notification by mail.
