Linux laptop: Windows install smoothly?

A question: I would like to get a new laptop, and I have noticed that the same model is in many cases around 10-15% cheaper if Linux is preinstalled instead of Windows. I have already installed Windows a number of times myself and would probably have no problems switching the whole thing over to Windows. Still, I wanted to ask again, just to be extra safe. Are there any hardware differences between Windows and Linux models and can there be any difficulties installing Windows (is it possible that something is locked in the BIOS or something, have no idea)? Just to be on the safe side, before I order something. (;

These PCs are cheaper only because Windows costs money and Linux doesn't. If you want to install Windows on a Linux computer, you have to have the entire hard drive formatted. Windows does this automatically during the installation and it works smoothly.

Nice, thank you, I still have a few Windows licenses lying around here
