Have a problem. My laptop is set to English. For some keys he is now starting to make additional characters.
With "U" comes "UP", with P also comes "UP", "Y" doesn't work at all, with "H" comes "H '".
Can anyone help me further?
You should look for your keyboard layout under settings and change that if necessary.
The English keyboard can be changed in the country settings. Double letters or keys that do not work indicate a defect, or at least moisture in the keyboard, which can lead to malfunctions. This has nothing to do with the country setting. Depending on its age and value, it may be worth swapping the keyboard. If you do that yourself, a replacement keyboard costs between 50 and 100 euro (depending on the model) … But a bit of tact is required, as you first have to know how to get the keyboard out and in, and the ribbon cable can also be a problem. Often you break the clamp if you approach it too clumsily or too quickly or if you try to loosen the clamp incorrectly…
This will be due to your keyboard, not your OS.
This can happen if contacts in the keyboard are bridged, e.g. If a liquid has spilled into the keyboard.
With a keyboard, each key is usually not connected individually but to a kind of matrix that is divided into rows and columns. If something is wrongly electrically connected somewhere, something like that can happen.
Often you can fix something like this by cleaning, you may have to take it apart completely.
