You won't get a decent laptop for this. Maybe there are used ones for the money. Have a look on eBay for a used MacBook. Maybe you can find one there.

I would recommend a Chromebook. The Google Play Store is also there so that Android apps can also be installed on it. Chromebooks are extremely fast because the Chrome OS operating system is tailored to the built-in components.
Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Microsoft Teams are also available as Android apps. It is even available free of charge as an Office 365 Education license for pupils and students.

If the laptop is only intended for school, one with a "bad" graphics card is enough, but the processor shouldn't be too bad. Because it's best to have a look at eBay or OTTO.
