Tomorrow I will fly to China / Hong Kong and it is like that you get cell phones or laptops etc. Cheaper there (So Hong Kong). My plan is to buy a new phone there because my current one is not what I wanted it to be and my parents immediately said it would not work, because there might be a charge on the departure of purchased equipment. And I just want to ask if that's true, because if that would be really stupid. Would be nice, if you know something about it or can say any pages to read.

Edit: I take my laptop and so with and also ask if that can have any consequences. Because my mother once had such problems and then had to pay 20% of the new price.

Above all, customs duties and import sales tax apply when entering the country. So you can add another 20% to the price, and it's usually not worth it.

So on my laptop 20% or the device I would buy, because we want to fly back to China afterwards

As long as you are over 15, you are allowed to bring goods for your personal use up to 430 euro. Under 15 years there are only 175 euro.

Beware in HKG of too cheap mobile phone deals. They are neither original devices, nor have they a fully functional original operating system installed. Since the frustration is inevitable after returning.

If you arrive here again.

When traveling in and out of Hong Kong electronics are not important.

For entry into Germany charges are incurred if the value of the entire product is above EUR 430. So buy a cell phone under HKD 4000 and it comes down to about.

You can check here what your mobile costs in Hong Kong:

Buying a mobile phone in HK is no problem. With used mobile phones you just have to know how to test before you buy. You can't test new goods because nobody makes the packaging.
