The laptop microphone is pretty bad just bad. Nevertheless you can set something. Firstly, the level and the microphone gain. And you can activate the noise reduction.
I would increase the gain to max, and lower the level a little. Just experiment and ask the other person what sounds best.

If you have little money for a decent microphone then get one from Speedlink. Or by king. Just costs a few E.
