Microsoft Surface Pro 7 or Surface Go 2?

I want to buy a Surface, but I'm a little bit desperate which one exactly I should get myself. I still hesitate between the Surface Go 2 with the Core m3 processor, or the Surface Pro 7 with the I3 processor. However, I don't want to spend more than around 700 euro because you also have to buy the keyboard. For the Surface Go 2 it would speak that I also get 8 GB RAM + 128 GB SSD for just under 650 euro. With the Surface Pro 7, on the other hand, I would have the better processor with the I3, but for about the same money I only get 4 GB RAM + and 128 GB SSD and what I have read on the Internet so far, 4 GB Ram is actually always discouraged, because it should slow down the laptop or tablet in the long run.

Now my question for you, what would you choose? The Surface Go 2 or the Surface Pro 7?

Maybe you should state what you want to do with the device.

The surfaces still have problems with the cover keyboard today. I had three devices myself and had keyboard problems with all surfaces and no solutions were helpful. MS doesn't care and reacts worse than Apple. I would advise against the MS Surface.

Normal office work and the football manager play on it every now and then. I would still like to have a decent model, I'd rather have a little more money in hand than the cheaper version now and then buy one again in 2-3 years.

If so, then the surface values are too bad anyway. 4-8 GB of RAM is nothing. I3 is also rather bad.

Buy a decent notebook that can also be retrofitted. That is much more future-proof. Or is it just about the appearance of the device?

To be honest: in my opinion, neither is really worth it. In my opinion, both devices have their crucial weaknesses.
A nice convertible with good components is available for 700 euro, I would rather orient myself in that direction.

Hm… The area of application is more important… And the demands.

I myself have a Surface GO2 with the m3 processor and I'm really impressed. However, I still have a SurfaceBook2 and a very powerful Acer at home. For me, the main reasons for buying the Go2 were its size / weight, its handiness for traveling or in the evening on the couch…

The Pro 7 with 4 GB is really not advisable… I would definitely not buy a laptop below 8 GB today. The SSD at first scared me off on the SF GO2 … But with a good MicroSD, mine is e.g. Extended by 256 GB and that works absolutely flawlessly. That would e.g. Also work with the Pro7 … My mother and a friend just bought a Pro7 … And yes - it's faster and bigger… But not so handy.

My son has the "normal" Go for his studies… But also with 8GB and 128 SSD and I'm always surprised how great this "small and actually weak" device is… But he uses it a lot with Pencil… So it had to be "Tablet" can.

Hmm… I can't understand that at all…

From the first Surface RT (2011/2012) to GO / GO2, we have various Surface devices in the house… Not a single one has problems with the Type Cover… Even among friends, there are several different SF models in use… Here, too, not a single problem with the type cover…

We had about 20 of them in use in my company. These included different versions from the 3 to the 7 series. Everything was there. I myself used 3 surfaces one after the other and all three versions had the problem. It wasn't always like that in the company, but it was the main part, so we decided not to buy any more Surfaces. We also obtained this directly from MS as a partner program. Was everything new and supported directly by MS - if you can speak of support here, you have to admit. You also have to ask yourself why MS created a subpage that deals with this problem. There are also some articles on the Internet with instructions that should fix the problem. That worked in very few cases. The hardware is badly designed and one can only advise against it. It's just too expensive for that. Others do it better, unfortunately, because the Suerface itself is a great device. HP uses their hardware e.g. Better on and not have these types of flaws.
