Strange practice of people; Copy off the board at school. Do you think that's strange too?

When I was at school, the teacher wrote something on the board and the students then wrote everything down in their exercise books. I find that strange. You too?

Why not just take pictures of the board? Then the students would save the copying. Instead of reading the magazine, you can read on the picture. So notebooks would be unnecessary?

Writing by hand takes a lot of time. Alternatively, students could write everything on a laptop using a keyboard and then save everything digitally.

Is it still the case today that everything on the board is written in one booklet? What could digitization change then?

For many teachers it is no longer the case, but a little more interactive. Unfortunately, this is still the case with some teachers. However, blunt photographing is not a better option, because when you copy it, you memorize things better, since students tend to never look at the picture and forget the content when they photograph the blackboard.

I understand why it has to be written off: You assume that the knowledge will be memorized better.
Yes, digitization is changing something, many at my level (12) are now taking iPads with them, copying them and saving it as a document.

A blackboard picture is not used just to have a text copied, then you could copy it straight away and hand it out to the students. A good blackboard picture develops over the course of the hour. It is used for the students to grasp the material step by step. A good blackboard picture is also not a wall made of text but is built up sensibly. Today, teachers are increasingly using interactive whitehards or other digital forms of presentation, but even the good old board has not yet had its day. You can think of the board as a precursor to PowerPoint. The material is presented with it. It is not a master copy. That may have been the case in the past. If teachers still do this today, it is simply bad teaching.

Whether it is a blackboard or a modern screen is m. E. Not that important either.

Above all, modern techniques help the teacher. But how does it help to convey the contents of the "board" so that it also reaches the student as knowledge.
