According to the website, the MSI Prestige 15 has a battery life of up to 16 hours. However, I don't even come close. If I use it continuously, I have to recharge 2 - 3 times.

-Lowest keyboard backlight
-Only browsing and scratching (with Discord in the background)
Exactly - it only means "up to". This can at best be achieved under laboratory conditions, but not in practice.
Just using it by you consumes more electricity, plus everything that the operating system and various software do in the background.
So a notebook with a specified battery life of 7 hours would be almost unusable as what it should be? Or not?

That's pretty bad. Presumably this is measured at minimum brightness without WLAN in idle.

So with Discord (live screen transfer), Scratch 3 and a good question in the browser, highest screen brightness, lowest keyboard lighting and power saving mode, it went from 100% to 18% within "only" 4 hours and 20 minutes. According to the notebook, it should now hold out for another hour and 13 minutes until it is down to 0%.
Well, you use a lot. It's not that terrible either. If the laptop is older, the battery will also deteriorate, keep that in mind too.
He's brand new. Not even bought a week ago
