When I write something on my notebook, it often happens that the keyboard jumps somewhere in the middle of the text and continues to write there. Sometimes a large part of the text is even deleted.
Why is that and what can I do about it?
This is probably the trackpad. You can turn this off (and use a mouse if you don't already).
It is not because of that. I don't even touch it
The keyboard just doesn't jump. These are then always mouse inputs.
But it also happens if I don't touch the trackpad or it is even deactivated.
It really is the touchpad. The touch can be so light that you don't even notice it.
Remedy: You can get used to writing with "pointed fingers", using a mouse, as the previous speaker wrote. Personally, I'm a fan of trackpoints such as those on Lenovo Thinkpads. Because that doesn't happen there.
Alright, thank you very much. From now on I deactivate the trackpad while writing
OK thanks. From now on I deactivate the trackpad while writing
