Ps3 controller problems?

I would like to play GTA on the laptop and that doesn't seem to work simply by connecting a Ps3 controller to the device with a USB cable, what do I have to do to play GTA V on the laptop with a Ps3 controller?

Unfortunately, I don't know whether it is possible with a ps3 controller. But there are controllers for less than 30 euro that are made identically and are only intended for the PC.
