How to disable laptop battery?

I want to use my laptop as a 2nd monitor. The laptop / notebook is a bit older and I don't want anything in the form of explosion and the like to happen if it is always connected to the network.

I could imagine that it works over CMD or bios.

(Linux is also on the laptop if that matters because of the bios.)
